An emergency situation has arisen at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant as a result of a Russian attack on energy infrastructure in the city of Slavutych, Kyiv region, and the plant is currently without electricity, Ukrinform reported yesterday. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy on Facebook.
"As a result of power outages, the new safety containment structure, which is a key facility isolating the destroyed Fourth Power Unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and preventing the release of radioactive materials into the environment, was left without electricity," the statement said.
