Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans said on Monday that NATO must learn from the drone incidents over Poland and find a more efficient way to shoot down the aircraft than using F-35 fighter jets, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
He also told reporters in Brussels upon arrival for a meeting with his colleagues from the alliance that his country plans to allocate 90 million euros for drones for Ukraine. He added that more NATO countries should increase their contributions to the Priority Ukraine Needs List (PURL), an initiative to assist Kiev with military equipment and ammunition.
Brekelmans also announced that the Netherlands supports NATO efforts to harmonize the different standards and protocols for the allies' operations in missions on the eastern flank.
"It is very important that we work on these regulations and harmonize them," he told reporters in Brussels.
