The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has issued a warning for dangerous rainfall and strong winds that will affect the city today and tomorrow, the “Daily Sabah“ website reports.
The warning states that wind gusts are expected to reach 65 km/h today. The amount of rainfall in different parts of the city is expected to reach between 10 and 30 liters per square meter.
Local authorities are warning Istanbul residents and visitors to be careful and to plan their movements around the city well due to expected disruptions to transport links. Authorities are also warning to avoid low-lying areas and coastal areas of Istanbul due to the increased risk of flooding.
According to the weather forecast, the weather in Istanbul is expected to improve on Wednesday.
