The Dutch party "Democrats-66" will be the first force in the new Dutch parliament, BTA reported.
The exit poll, just announced in a joint TV show on NOS/RTL 4, assigns it 27 of the 150-seat Second Chamber in the States General (parliament). The party has added as many as 18 deputies compared to the previous elections in November 2023.
In second place is the Freedom Party with 25 deputies, followed by the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy - with 23, in fourth place are "Green Left" - Labor Party - with 20 deputies. The "Christian Democratic Appeal" party will have 19 MPs, according to the exit poll.
The first comments on the TV show were that the big loser was Geert Wilders.
All the polls in the campaign for the snap elections in the Netherlands for the Second Chamber pointed to the winner being Geert Wilders' far-right Party for Freedom, which won the previous elections. Only yesterday did polls show that the five parties that are now the first in the new parliament are close to each other.
