Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from the village of Ravnopolie, after which the Russian offensive in the Zaporizhia region was stopped, the Southern Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said today, quoted by Ukrinform.
"Late last night, Ukrainian units withdrew to more favorable positions due to massive shelling of our positions in the Ravnopolie region", the Southern Command wrote in "Telegram". The text states that the Russian offensive in the Zaporizhia region was subsequently stopped.
A total of 25 battles were recorded in the region. The enemy continues to suffer heavy losses in its attempts to advance, with 58 people killed and nearly 30 wounded in the last 24 hours alone, the Southern Command also wrote.
Yesterday, the Ukrainian army reported, quoted by Ukrinform, that intensified Russian attacks in the Zaporizhia region, especially in the Oleksandrograd and Gulyaipole regions, had forced Ukrainian forces to withdraw from their positions near five settlements in the region.
