Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the facilities of the Novokuybyshev refinery in the Russian Samara region and a drone warehouse belonging to the Russian unit "Rubikon" in the occupied part of the Donetsk region, the Ukrinform news agency reported, citing a statement on the "Telegram" of the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, BTA reported.
"As part of efforts to reduce the enemy's offensive potential and hinder the supply of fuel and ammunition to the military units of the occupiers, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the facilities of the Novokuybyshev refinery in the Russian Samara region. This enterprise has an annual processing capacity of 8.8 million tons of oil", the statement said.
The enterprise produces more than 20 types of petroleum products. It supports the Russian occupation army and is one of the main producers of high-quality jet fuel, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
Explosions and a fire were recorded in the area of the strike, and the extent of the damage is being clarified. In addition, strikes were carried out on a warehouse for storing drones belonging to the "Rubikon" unit and a fuel and lubricants pumping station in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region, Ukrinform reported.
In turn, the Russian army announced today that it had captured two more villages in southern Ukraine, where Russian troops are continuing their slow advance against the smaller Ukrainian units, Agence France-Presse reported. The Russian Defense Ministry said today that its troops had captured the villages Rivnopolie and Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhia Oblast, after announcing the capture of two other settlements earlier this week.
