Ukraine signs agreement with Greece for transit of American liquefied natural gas  - 1

The Greek State Natural Gas Company (DEPA Emborias) and the Ukrainian “Naftogaz“ signed a Declaration of Intent in Athens today, which aims to ensure the transit of American liquefied natural gas from Greece to Ukraine from December 2025 to March 2026, the Greek Sky TV reported, quoted by BTA.

The agreement was signed as part of the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Athens today.

Before arriving in Greece, Zelensky estimated the value of the agreement at around 2 billion euros.

A statement from the two companies said that the declaration makes a decisive contribution to regional and European energy security and sustainability and provides support to Ukraine during a difficult winter.

Greece's energy infrastructure ensures stable natural gas transmission along the Vertical Gas Corridor, the statement said.

The signing at the residence of Greek Prime Minister “Maximos“ The US Ambassador to Athens, Kimberly Guilfoyle, accompanied by the Greek Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, also arrived. Zelensky is currently holding talks with the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
