Russian forces are advancing in the direction of Gulyaipole, Primorsk and Kamianske, the head of the Zaporizhia regional military administration Ivan Fedorov said at a press conference, adding that this is the most difficult situation since the beginning of the Russian invasion, but reinforcements are expected within a week, Ukrinform reported, BTA reported.
"I do not see any significant change in the city of Zaporizhia over the past three and a half years," Fedorov said. "I have just arrived from Malokaterinovka, I was also in Grigorivka. Together with the army, we inspected the defense structures and developed a plan for their reinforcement. We discussed with the army the issue of how we should act in the Malokaterinovka, Primorsk, Plavny, Kamyanske and Grigorivka, Kamyshevaha, so that the residents of the regional center, where 90% of the region's population currently lives, feel safe," Fedorov added.
Currently, about 500 people live in Gulyaipole and the surrounding areas, Fedorov said.
"After Zelensky's visit, we are observing a significant reinforcement of military units in order to stabilize the situation in the Gulyaipole direction and improve the situation in the Kamyanske direction," the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration noted.
He added that in the morning there was a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff about the security situation in the region as a whole.
"This is indeed the most difficult situation in the region for the past three and a half years, but thanks to the defense forces, we see a trend towards stabilizing the situation. Our goal is to help the military units in every possible way. The visit "The president's message is a positive signal for us, we have received assistance and within three to seven days more military units will be sent to us… Our task is to resist the pressure that the enemy is exerting on the Zaporozhye region," Fedorov summarized.
