Russia has blocked access to the mobile application "Snapchat", Reuters reported, BTA reported.
According to authorities, one of the reasons for the ban is that the platform "was used to organize and carry out terrorist acts in the country, as well as to recruit perpetrators", RIA Novosti added, citing the Russian telecommunications regulator "Roskomnadzor".
Russia has also blocked the video calling application "FaceTime" by "Apple" (Apple), as part of a widening campaign against foreign technology platforms that authorities say are used for criminal activity.
The move follows restrictions already imposed on "YouTube" by "Google", "WhatsApp" by "Meta" and the messaging app "Telegram".
