The American plan to end the conflict in this country envisages Ukraine joining the European Union as early as January 2027. This was stated to Agence France-Presse by a high-ranking official, BTA reported.
This was included in the latest version of the American plan, which has undergone several modifications since it was presented.
“This is formulated there“, the official said, but added that the topic is the subject of negotiations and that the Americans support the idea of accession as early as 2027.

Joining the EU is a complex and lengthy procedure and requires the approval of the 27 member states to move to each next stage. The procedure regarding Ukraine started after the Russian invasion of that country. And the negotiations officially began in June 2024, recalls Agence France-Presse.
