Zakharova: Russia's economic interests are affected - 1

The bombing of the Iranian port of “Bandar e Anzali“ affected the economic interests of Russia and other countries with access to the Caspian Sea, said today the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, quoted by TASS, BTA reported.

“On March 18, the Iranian port of “Bandar e Anzali“ on the Caspian Sea was bombed. The largest port on the Caspian Sea is an important trade and logistics center, which is actively used to ensure Russian-Iranian trade, including food products. The economic interests of Russia and other Caspian Sea countries, which maintain a transport link with Iran through this port, are affected,“ Zakharova pointed out.

“The Caspian Sea has always been perceived by the countries in the region and the international community as a safe space of peace and cooperation. The reckless and irresponsible actions of the aggressors create a threat of involving the Caspian Sea-bordering countries in a military conflict,“ she noted.
