The port and civilian infrastructure in the southern part of the Odessa region was subjected to a massive attack tonight, the chairman of the Odessa regional military administration Oleg Kiper announced on his "Telegram" channel.
"In the port of Izmail, damage was caused to a civilian ship flying the Panamanian flag, as well as to the pier and a barge. Port equipment was also damaged," Kiper said.
As a result of the strike, a car service building was destroyed, two passenger buses and seven cars were destroyed. Six private houses were damaged, with their roofs damaged, Oleg Kiper reported. An ambulance was also damaged.
Fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries, the regional governor's statement says. The relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
The Bulgarians in the Odessa region number over 150,000 people and are the third largest according to the latest official census in Ukraine. About 50-60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odessa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorod-Dniester regions.
