US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent criticized China for being an unreliable global partner during the war in the Middle East, Reuters reported.
Bessent explained that Beijing has been hoarding oil supplies and restricting exports of certain goods.
He explained that he had spoken to Chinese officials about the issue. However, the Treasury Secretary did not answer the question of whether this would derail US President Donald Trump's plan to visit Beijing at the end of the month, but noted that Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have a very good working relationship.
"I think the message of the visit is stability. We have had a lot of stability in the relationship since last summer; it comes from the top down. "I think communication is the key," Scott Besant emphasized.
