European Parliament President Roberta Metsola said that the European Union and the UK must find a "way forward" that is pragmatically aligned with London's exit from the EU, BTA reports.
At a meeting in Brussels dedicated to bilateral relations, she stressed that it is time to talk about a "British model" of cooperation, and not a Norwegian or Swiss option.
Metsola noted that ten years after the Brexit decision, there is no alternative to maintaining strong relations between the two countries. According to her, cooperation can be deepened in areas such as security, defense, cybersecurity and other key policies.
She called for the dialogue to be conducted without emotions and without returning to old disputes over EU membership, emphasizing the need for joint work in the conditions of an increasingly unpredictable international environment.
