Volodymyr Zelensky is deliberately provoking a global conflict with his public demands for nuclear weapons for Ukraine, Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said during a weekly briefing, MK reports.
''In an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde on March 26, Zelensky said that Ukraine should be given both NATO membership and nuclear weapons as security guarantees. He essentially continues to provoke a nuclear conflict with such statements. Moreover, Western Europe risks becoming the first victim of this nuclear blackmail, Zakharova said.
According to her, the Ukrainian president ''clearly does not want peace'', adding that ''the Kiev regime is using the nuclear weapons issue as blackmail with the support of its Western partners''.
