At least 14 soldiers from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have been killed in a mine clearance operation in Iran, the Tasnim news agency reported.
According to the agency, two other soldiers were injured. The incident occurred in the northwestern part of the Islamic Republic, in Zanjan province, where work is underway to search for and clear unexploded ordnance left over from the last armed conflict.
