Experts in Slovakia have criticized the measures taken to protect Prime Minister Robert Fico , after yesterday's attempt against him, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
"Fico himself spoke a few weeks ago about the danger of someone shooting a politician," former Slovak police chief Stefan Hamran told the newspaper "Dennik En" today. (Dennik N). He asked who analyzed and assessed the threat.
Hamran also criticized the reaction of Fitzo's guards after the shots were fired. "There was chaos there, it's obvious and it's a failure," he said.
The former head of the Slovak Security Service Juraj Zabojnik also criticized the prime minister's bodyguards. "If the attacker managed to fire four or five shots, someone must be to blame," he told the TA3 news channel. He added that he did not see any of the bodyguards protect Fizo from the shots with their body.
The Slovak prime minister was shot yesterday while shaking hands with citizens after a government meeting in the central town of Handlova.
