Aleksandar Vucic: They tried to break Serbia, but they failed - 1

The President of Serbia and member of the presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party, Aleksandar Vucic, said today at an election rally before the local elections on June 2 that he is proud of the strength and dignity of Serbia, Tanjug reported, quoted by BTA.

Vucic said this at a pre-election rally of the coalition around the Serbian Progressive Party in Valevo, where he spoke about the party's plans and programs and what has been done so far.

Vucic said that the average salary in Valevo in 2012 was 295 euros and today it is 703 euros and will be even higher. He announced the reconstruction and expansion of the city's hospital. The President thanked those gathered in Valevo for the warm welcome, adding that he was still under the influence of the two-month struggle against Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, as well as against the Srebrenica resolution in New York.

„I am proud of Serbia's strength, I am proud of Serbia's dignity, I am proud of the fact that although they tried, they failed to break Serbia,“ said Vucic.

"What I promise to the people of Valevo, and I said it last time at the opening of the factory, is to do the reconstruction of the hospital, the expansion of the hospital and fully equip it. This is somewhere around 110 million euros. This is certainly one of the biggest investments of the state along with the highway and expressway," Vucic said at the rally.

On June 2, local elections will be held in Belgrade and in another 66 municipalities where local elections were not held, together with early parliamentary elections on December 17, 2023. A repeat of the local vote in Belgrade came after the attempts for the constitution of the city council failed.
