The German arms company "Rheinmetal" opened an enterprise for the repair and production of armored vehicles in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Ministry of Strategic Industries announced, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
The service center, a joint venture of "Rheinmetall" and a Ukrainian partner company, will facilitate the rapid repair and maintenance of German equipment in Ukraine, the ministry announced.
"The creation of a joint production facility with "Rheinmetall" is not only a step towards the victory of Ukraine, but also an important stage in the development of the arsenal of the free world”, said Minister Oleksandr Kamishin in a statement.
The German company is supplying Ukraine with weapons for the war against Russia, which began in February 2022. Its products include infantry fighting vehicles "Marder" and "Leopard" battle tanks.
Ukrainian specialists will work in the facility, and representatives of the German company will carry out technical supervision, the announcement states.
