Four people were buried after the storms in the southeastern Swiss canton of Graubünden. This morning, rescuers pulled out a surviving woman from under the stone debris near the village of Lostalo, located north of Lake Como, DPA reported, citing local police. The search for the other three buried remains continues, writes BTA.

The Alpine resort of Zermatt on the Matterhorn is cut off from the rest of the world by small rivers that have burst their banks. At the moment, the railway line to the town of Visp remains interrupted. Zermatt Mayor Romy Biener-Hauser said the tourists were safe. Those who cannot leave will be accommodated.

The valley of the Mesolcina River, located south of the San Bernardino Pass on the border with Italy, has been particularly affected by the heavy rains, floods and landslides that have continued since Friday. Several people were evacuated from their homes as a precaution. There are also flooded roads.
