The Ukrainian army achieved its goals in the Russian Kursk region, where it carried out an invasion on an unprecedented scale in in recent weeks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, quoted by AFP, BTA reported.
„We are achieving our goals”, Zelensky said about the Kursk operation. The purpose of the invasion is “to create a buffer zone between Russia and Ukraine”, Zelensky announced.
He added that more Russian soldiers were captured this morning, who will be able to be exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners of war, Reuters reported.
The Commander of the Air Force of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk, said yesterday that the Ukrainian air force had destroyed another strategic bridge over the Seym River in Russia's Kursk region, limiting the supply capacity of Russian troops sent to stop the advance of the Ukrainian forces.
