German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said today that Ukraine did not consult with Germany about the Ukrainian offensive in Russia's Kursk region that began on August 6 and that he expects this operation to be limited, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Speaking at a press conference after talks with Moldovan President Maia Sandu in Chisinau, the German chancellor also said that his country would continue to be, he said, the biggest supporter of Ukraine in Europe.

In turn, Sandu said that Berlin's support for her country strengthens neighboring Ukraine and security in the region.

The Moldovan president added that Moldova is open to investment and invited German companies to participate in the first announced tender for the production of renewable energy in the country.
