Due to a threat of a Ukrainian air strike with drones, two Russian airports in the arctic Murmansk region, Reuters reported, referring to "Rosaviation", writes BTA.
The Federal Air Transport Agency announced that the airports in Murmansk and Apatity have temporarily stopped working.
The governor of the Murmansk region, Andrey Chibis, confirmed that there was a threat of a drone attack today, but did not give details.
Aircraft crews, air traffic controllers and airport ground services have taken all necessary actions to ensure flight safety - this is an absolute priority, said the message of "Rosaviatsia", quoted by TASS.
The Russian aviation authority added that no alternate airports in the area were used during the short temporary restrictions.
In the Murmansk region, near the city of Olenogorsk, there is a Russian air force base for strategic bombers, notes Reuters.
