Iran and Belarus congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day, which is an example of great hypocrisy. This is how the UNIAN agency commented on the congratulatory telegrams sent yesterday from Tehran and Minsk to Kyiv.
Iran and Belarus are close allies of Russia, which in February 2022 launched an unprovoked full-scale war against Ukraine. Iran's military provided deadly drones to Russian forces for attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, while Belarus allowed the Russian military to attack Kiev from its territory at the start of the invasion.
On behalf of Belarus, the country's self-proclaimed president Alexander Lukashenko hypocritically wished Ukraine “peaceful” future.
The social network X, on the other hand, added a note to Iran's congratulatory message that the Islamic Republic is a major ally of Russian aggression against the Ukrainian state, providing drones and other weapons to Putin.
