The Kremlin said today that it will not monitor the pre-election debate between US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, reports Reuters, quoted by BTA.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained that the debate is within the competence of American voters.
Last week, the White House called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop commenting on the US presidential election after he jokingly expressed his desire for Harris to win and praised her "infectious" laughter.
Peskov announced that Putin will monitor the start of major Russian naval exercises from the Kremlin's situation center. The exercises will take place in several oceans and will involve the participation of foreign partners.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, more than 400 Russian warships, submarines and auxiliary vessels will take part in the naval exercises, in which the Chinese Navy also participates. The maneuvers will continue until September 16 and will take place in the Pacific Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Caspian Sea.
