The first snow fell in the Croatian ski resort of Platak tonight, as well as in several Slovenian mountain resorts, local media reported.

Today morning was significantly cooler in both the mountain and plain regions of Croatia, and the Croatian ski resort Platak dawned with the first snow of the season, reports the Croatian site “Index”. It snowed overnight and the snowflakes are still flying today.

Other mountain resorts also report temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius, but so far it is snowing only in Platak.

Several mountain resorts in Slovenia also woke up covered in snow, with the snow cover varying between 10 and 30 centimeters, reports the Slovenian edition of the regional website En1. Snow falls at an altitude of over 1400 meters.

In Croatia, an orange code for dangerous weather is in effect along the Adriatic coast of Croatia and a yellow code for the rest of the country. Heavy rain, thunderstorms and possible flooding are expected in the coastal area. In Slovenia, they warn of the danger of avalanches due to the accumulation of wet snow in the lower mountain areas and strong winds.
