The UN Security Council last night expressed its full support for the Secretary General of the Organization, Antonio Guterres, after Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz declared him "persona non grata in Israel", reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
A statement from the 15-member council said that "any decision not to engage with the UN Secretary-General or the United Nations is counterproductive, particularly in the context of rising tensions in the Middle East.

The statement did not mention Israel.
Such statements by the UN Security Council are accepted with complete unanimity, notes Reuters.
