The MP from the opposition in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yevgeny Shevchenko called in its Telegram channel, the country to start negotiations with Russia "as soon as possible".
„The sooner negotiations begin, the more favorable their terms will be formulated for Ukraine”, he wrote, stressing that negotiations are inevitable.
According to the deputy, in order to obtain the most favorable conditions, two foundations are needed.
„The first basis is the existence of a balance of interests between the warring parties, not a one-sided agreement that assigns only rights to one side and responsibilities to the other - in other words, capitulation," Shevchenko said.
The second basis for concluding a peace treaty, according to the deputy, is the “subjective perception of the parties” relative to each other. Shevchenko explained that this is not about trust at all, but about “contact” of mentalities and how countries perceive and characterize certain phenomena.
