Washington: Any aggressor must know that if they attack one NATO country, they will be dealing with all others - 1

Every aggressor must know that if he attacks one NATO country, he will have to deal with all the others. This is the best way to contain the aggressors, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said today before the start of the two-day meeting of the pact's foreign ministers in Brussels, writes BTA.

The reason so many countries invest in the alliance and new ones want to join is because it is the best defense against war. By joining NATO, each ally accepts that an attack on one is an attack on all, he added.

Work in recent years has strengthened the alliance, new members have been accepted, new abilities have been acquired. We share the concern about Ukraine, but we are even more determined to provide what Ukrainians need to cope on the battlefield and overcome the consequences of the attacks on their energy grid, the Secretary of State said.

In his words, Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to use winter as a weapon again. We will not allow him to leave Ukrainians in darkness and cold, Blinken pointed out.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte noted that the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine is difficult. Tomorrow we will discuss increasing Russian aggression against NATO countries and how to counter it, he added. Rutte congratulated the US, Sweden, Great Britain, Estonia, Norway and Germany for the recently announced additional arms deliveries to the Ukrainians.
