US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced additional humanitarian aid for Sudan worth about $200 million, which will be directed at food, shelter and health care, BTA reports.
The decision comes after the outbreak of conflict in the country, which has led to the loss of tens of thousands of lives and caused the most serious humanitarian crisis with a displaced population in the world, Reuters reported.
During the UN Security Council meeting on Sudan, Blinken stressed the need for aid to be delivered safely and quickly to those who need it most.
