Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, speaking today during his annual press conference, said that against the backdrop of the US presidential elections, the world is on the verge of a “new reality“ and “new things“ are coming,“ the Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
“Very big changes are coming. We are moving from wartime to an era of peace“, Orban said. He added that after the US presidential elections, the European elite “does not notice the new reality“. According to him, “the world will still face huge changes when Donald Trump takes office on January 20, if he implements even a part of what he has planned“.
Europe must wake up to the new reality, Orbán said, adding that “new things will happen, things that have not even been dreamed of, except, perhaps, by the Hungarians“.
If the war in Ukraine ends, the sanctions that “torture the European economy“ could be lifted, the prime minister said, adding that Budapest's position is that they should be lifted as soon as possible, and that then the period of inflation “will end, economic recovery will finally begin, and prosperity will be able to return to Europe“.
