Turkey is awaiting a price offer for a possible purchase of Eurofighter fighter jets after presenting a list of its technical needs to the British Ministry of Defense, a Turkish Defense Ministry source told Reuters on Monday.
The Eurofighter Typhoon fighters are produced by a consortium of Germany, Britain, Italy and Spain, represented by Airbus, BAE Systems and Leonardo.
Ankara is negotiating with Britain and Spain to buy 40 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, and Germany has softened its position after initially opposing the deal.
„The document prepared within the framework of the delivery of 40 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft was sent to the British Ministry of Defense and the relevant company“, the source in Ankara said.
“We expect the price offer to arrive in the coming days,“ he added.
