Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic hosted a dinner last night with the son of the US president - Donald Trump Jr., who arrived in Belgrade as part of a tour of the region, Tanjug reported, BTA reported.
"Many foreigners rightly say that I am a difficult person and it is not easy to talk to me, but no one has ever said that we are not hospitable", Vucic wrote on Instagram last night.
Before the dinner with President Donald Trump Jr., he also met with Serbian businessmen. The Serbian Chamber of Commerce said in a post on Instagram that during the meeting there was "an excellent and open discussion" between representatives of Serbian business and Donald Trump Jr.
The chairman of the chamber, Marko Cadez, said that the meeting was attended by 33 businessmen and directors of local companies employing over 35,000 people. He pointed out that the talks were focused on tourism, information technology and other sectors.
"They had the opportunity to talk to a person who is at the center of world events and knows what is happening in global markets (...) What was especially interesting is that Trump Jr. was really interested in hearing from each company what they do and what projects they are involved in. We talked about tourism, development and other industries. He was interested in hearing what is happening here. "The idea of the meeting was to present local companies," Cadez said.
He added that American companies are showing great interest in the IT sector and that projects related to the real estate and tourism sectors were also presented at the meeting.
This is the second visit of the US president's son to Serbia in a month and a half, the agency notes. Previously, he was in Belgrade on March 11 and was interviewed by Vucic on his podcast.
Donald Trump Jr., who is an entrepreneur and vice president of the "Trump" Organization, also visited Belgrade during his father's election campaign in September last year. His current visit is part of a tour that also includes Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania.
