US President Donald Trump mistakenly believes that he can bring peace to the Middle East through force, but such aspirations of Washington have always led only to suffering and destabilization of the countries in the region. This opinion was expressed by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“Some of the statements made during the US President's visit to the countries of the region do not deserve a response at all. They are so low that they bring shame to both the speaker and the American people“, Khamenei's press service quoted him as saying. - Trump said that he intended to use force for peace. He lied. He and other American leaders, the US governments, used force to carry out massacres in Gaza, to start wars, wherever they can, to support their puppet governments. This is how they used their power. When did they use it to achieve peace?“
“Force can be used in the name of peace and security. That is why, despite the hatred of our enemies, we will strengthen the power of the country every day. But they (the United States - TASS note) used force to transfer ten-ton bombs to the Israeli regime so that it could drop them on the heads of children in Gaza, on hospitals, on the homes of civilians - in Lebanon and wherever it can“, added the leader of the Islamic Republic.
Ronald Reagan, who was US president from 1981 to 1989, used the concept of “peace through force“ to describe US foreign policy priorities. The politician argued that “the balance of "Force is an illusion of peace; peace must be sought through force." Trump has used this concept as one of his foreign policy slogans.
