Russian generals lie to Putin out of fear. In reality, his army takes 2-3 houses - 1

Russian President Vladimir Putin believes in the effectiveness of a potential Russian summer offensive because he does not have reliable information about the real situation on the battlefield. The generals lie to him.

This was stated to Radio NV by military analyst Mikhailo Zhirokhov, according to whom Putin lives in an “information bubble“ about what is happening on the front in Ukraine.

“The generals tell him that they have taken a bunch of villages. In reality, these are 2-3 houses without any people. They tell him that they have driven the Ukrainians out of the Kursk region, that they have driven them out of the Belgorod region. That is, I think that he does not have a real map of military operations on the table. And that's why he draws conclusions from what he is told,“ said Zhirokhov.

He noted that in countries with totalitarian regimes, generals and in general people close to the dictator are afraid to bring him bad news. Zhirokhov explained the simple reason for this - the messengers are afraid that they will be the first to get whipped.

The Ukrainian military analyst's comment was made against the backdrop of ongoing diplomatic efforts by Kiev and Western countries to get Putin to sit at the negotiating table. The Russian president refuses to have a direct one-on-one dialogue with Zelensky or Trump.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia yesterday of trying to buy time to continue the war in Ukraine and its occupation of Ukrainian territory, the „Reuters” agency reported. A day after US President Donald Trump discussed the war with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zelensky said the conflict should be ended through negotiations, but there must be clear and realistic proposals at the negotiating table.
