Russia is working to implement the agreements reached with Ukraine during the talks in Istanbul, the press secretary of the head of state of Russia Dmitry Peskov told journalists. The Kremlin does not know what US President Donald Trump told European leaders after his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said.
„We know what Trump told Putin. And we do not know what Trump told the Europeans after that phone call. We also know the official statements of President Trump“, said a Kremlin spokesman, commenting on a Wall Street Journal report that the American leader told Europeans that Putin “believes that he is moving towards victory“.
There are plans to organize a visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Donetsk and Lugansk, and they will be implemented in time, Peskov said (editor's note: the lands occupied by the Russian army in eastern Ukraine are not internationally recognized as Russian).
The Kremlin representative emphasized that “these are our regions, Russian“. “You know that Putin actively visits Russian regions, and in this case, the Donetsk Republic and the Lugansk Republic are no exception“, he added. Europe will receive fertilizers at a higher price and of poorer quality due to high tariffs on Russian products, Peskov continued. "As a result, the European Union will receive nitrogen fertilizers at a higher price, of poorer quality, because our fertilizers, including nitrogen fertilizers, are of the highest quality. The demand for nitrogen fertilizers worldwide, in other directions is equally high, therefore, I think that markets in other directions will compensate for the European tariffs. Well, the Europeans will continue, as always, to shoot themselves in the foot," he noted.
