Problems with access to "X" have prompted social network owner Elon Musk to announce that he will have to focus more on managing his companies and reduce the time spent on Donald Trump's government, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
The billionaire entrepreneur has a busy schedule, as in addition to managing the "X" network, he also heads "XAI", which develops the artificial intelligence conversation robot Grock, the electric car manufacturer "Tesla" and the rocket manufacturer "SpaceX". For several months now, Elon Musk has also been heavily involved with the Donald Trump administration, which has tasked him with drastically reducing federal spending, which has put the South African-born entrepreneur in the spotlight.
But yesterday's outage on "Ex", which affected the network in the afternoon, may be the final straw that will make the world's richest man want to rethink his priorities.
"Back to spending 24/7 working and sleeping in conference/service/factory rooms," Musk said on "Ex".
"I need to be very focused on "Ex"/"ExA" and "Tesla" (plus the launch of "Starship" next week) because we have critical technologies".
He added that significant operational improvements are needed. Yesterday's problems should have been prevented, but they weren't, Musk noted.
There was no comment from "Ex" so far, AFP notes.
According to the monitoring platform "Site", the outage may have been caused by an attack by the "DyNet" hacker group. The hackers claim to have carried out a test cyberattack using a denial of service (DDOS, overloading the target with traffic or requests), before the upcoming next one.
Musk has already announced his intention to withdraw from the mission entrusted to him by Trump several times, reducing his participation in the work of the administration in recent days, AFP recalls.
