Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country is making efforts to ensure that the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will be held in Istanbul. He said this in a conversation with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.
„Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone conversation with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev. Our president stated that efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia continue, that Bulgaria's delicate policy on this issue is being closely followed and that Turkey is working to bring the countries closer together in Istanbul to ensure peace in the region“, said a statement from Erdogan's administration after the conversation.
The presidents also discussed „bilateral relations between Turkey and Bulgaria, regional and global issues“. “Erdogan said that relations between Turkey and Bulgaria are developing, efforts to develop cooperation in the defense industry and energy continue“, the statement said.
