Pentagon: Russia's military actions are yet to escalate - 1

The United States believes that Russia has not yet fully implemented its response to the attacks with drones against its strategic objects carried out by the Ukrainian side last week. This was reported by the "Reuters" agency, citing American sources.

According to one of the interlocutors, another significant Russian strike is expected within the next few days. Another source stressed that Russia is likely to use a diverse arsenal, including missiles and drones, applying the now familiar tactic of combined strikes.

The Russian Defense Ministry has already announced that the strikes on Kiev on Friday were in response to "terrorist acts", although it did not specify whether the FPV drones used in the attacks on Russian strategic airfields were targeted.

According to a Western diplomatic source, Moscow's actions are yet to escalate, with strikes on symbolic Ukrainian targets, including government buildings, expected to send a "clear signal" to Kiev.

Another Western official commented to "Reuters" that a "massive, brutal and merciless" attack was possible. "But Ukrainians are a brave people," the diplomat added.

American analysts suggest that Russia may also resort to an asymmetric response - through actions that do not necessarily repeat the type of Ukrainian strikes, but are aimed at inflicting a psychological and political effect.
