The Russian Federation produces more ammunition than all NATO countries, and the aggressor state does it many times faster. This was announced by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during his speech at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London, quoted by Suspilne, writes Focus

"When it comes to ammunition, Russia produces in three months as much as the entire NATO in a year“, the politician said.

Rutte added that the Russian military machine is not slowing down, but on the contrary, is gaining speed. Russia is also actively rebuilding its military potential, and China, Iran and North Korea are helping it in this, the NATO Secretary General emphasized.

According to Rutte, Russia is using Chinese technology to modernize its army.

"This year, the Russian defense industry is expected to produce 1,500 tanks, 3,000 armored vehicles and 200 "Iskander" missiles," the Secretary General emphasized.

According to him, it is worth remembering that Russia may be ready to use aggression against NATO in the next five years. Rutte also said in his speech that in his opinion "Putin is preparing for confrontation, not peace".

NATO and Russia

According to the president of the Bundeswehr Public Procurement Directorate, Annette Leunig-Emden, Europe has three years to rearm itself, and then a war with the Russian Federation will begin. According to her, the country has four years left to rearm the German army, and maybe even less time.

"By 2028, everything necessary for full defense readiness must be purchased - soldiers still have to be trained with the new equipment. There is already a spirit of desire for this in our department. We will purchase it! This is our slogan now. We teach our employees that they should make many decisions independently, wherever possible, in order to save time“, she stressed.

Rutte also explained in his speech why NATO countries should increase defense spending. In particular, he quoted the words of the German defense chief, who noted that by 2029 the Russians might be able to organize a successful attack on NATO.

"If we act now, everything will be fine for the next three years, but we have to start now, otherwise in four or five years we will be under threat“, warned the NATO Secretary General.
