The Governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev presented certificates of appreciation and personalized watches to four men for their participation in the neutralization of Ukrainian drones as part of the operation "Spiderweb" carried out by the SBU on June 1. The event took place in the village of Sredny in the Usolsky district, and the awardees were three police officers and one serviceman who happened to be at the scene, reports the BBC.

"Without thinking about the danger to their own lives, they began throwing stones at drones that were not yet activated from the roof of a van," Kobzev wrote on his Telegram channel. The off-duty serviceman volunteered spontaneously while traveling with his wife. "His behavior is that of a real man, and his wife Natalia, although worried, supported him," the governor added.

After the post on social media, many users expressed bewilderment as to why the truck drivers, whose actions were filmed and circulated on the Internet and in the media, were not honored. A little later, Kobzev edited his message, adding the names of the drivers and specifying that they were not local residents, but that he would contact them to thank them personally.
