The "black boxes" have been found at the site of the crash of a passenger plane in Ahmedabad in western India, the News18 television channel reported.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation will analyze the recordings as part of the investigation into the causes of the accident.

Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner with 242 people on board crashed almost immediately after takeoff. The plane was flying to London. According to The New Indian Express, more than 310 people died in the crash - both passengers and crew on board the plane, as well as people on the ground. The exact number of victims of the disaster will be established after DNA tests. One passenger from the crashed plane survived.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the crash site on Friday.

The cause of the crash is still unknown. The plane was piloted by an experienced captain with 8,200 hours of flying experience. He sent a distress call shortly after takeoff, signaling a critical condition. The Boeing 787 reached an altitude of 250 meters at a speed of 174 knots before beginning a slow descent with its landing gear retracted.

Experts told the Hindustan Times that the nose-up descent could indicate a sudden and severe loss of power. However, they stressed that the exact cause can only be determined after an investigation. Among other possible causes of the crash, experts point to a collision with a flock of birds.
