Turkey is awaiting details from Russia and Ukraine regarding the timing of the next round of talks and is ready to host them, a Turkish diplomatic source reported, quoted by "RIA Novosti".
"Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a conversation with US President Donald Trump that Russia is ready to continue negotiations with the Ukrainian side after June 22", reported the Russian leader's aide Yuri Ushakov.
„We are awaiting details from the parties regarding the timing. When they declare readiness, our doors are open", said the source.
The second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine was held on June 2 in Turkey. The meeting at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul lasted more than an hour. At it, the parties exchanged memoranda on resolving the conflict. As the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, announced after the talks, Russia and Ukraine have agreed on a large-scale exchange of prisoners of war: the sick and seriously wounded will be exchanged on the principle of "all for all", and prisoners of war under the age of 25 will also be exchanged. The total ceiling for the exchange will be at least 1,000 people.
The two sides have discussed a ceasefire in certain areas so that the bodies of the dead can be collected. According to Medinsky, the Ukrainian side has begun working on this proposal, but literally 2 hours later, Vladimir Zelensky publicly abandoned the proposed agreement.
