Russian President Vladimir Putin agrees that opponents should not be trusted.
“You shouldn't, I agree with you“, the head of state said during a conversation with state award winners in the Kremlin, responding to a remark by nuclear physicist Yuri Dikov, who urged the president “not to trust enemies - they will deceive you“. Footage of the conversation, which took place after the ceremony on June 12, was published on his Telegram-channel by VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.
“You know, we are all naive people“, the Russian president added, noting that this is an element of the Russian mentality - “to trust and obey everyone all the time“.
