Iran will give a more crushing response if Israel continues to attack the territory of the Islamic Republic, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said during a phone call with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani.
„We did not start the war, but we responded with force. If Israel's aggression is repeated again, it will face a more painful and crushing response. "Any country that truly wants peace, security and stability must take a line of opposition to Israeli aggression," Pezeshkian said, his words quoted on the website of the Iranian president's press service.
Pezeshkian also called on Iraq to better protect its airspace so that Israel does not use it to strike Iran.
At the same time, the heads of the Turkish and Russian foreign ministries, Hakan Fidan and Sergey Lavrov, held a telephone conversation and discussed the conflict between Israel and Iran, a source in the Turkish foreign ministry reported, quoted by "RIA Novosti".
„A telephone conversation was held today (June 15) between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During the conversation, the conflict between Israel and Iran was discussed, as well as the possible global and regional consequences of this tension,“ the agency's source said.
According to him, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the conflict can only be ended through diplomatic means.
„Minister Fidan said that what is happening is worrying and that diplomacy is the only way to end the conflict and resolve the dispute over Iran's nuclear activities,“ the source added.
