Secretary of the Security Council Sergei Shoigu reported that during the talks in Pyongyang, an agreement was reached to send North Korean sappers and builders to Russia to participate in the rebuilding of the Kursk region, Interfax reported, quoted by Focus.
"Chairman Kim Jong-un decided to send a thousand sappers to Russia to clear mines on Russian territory. He said that during the talks, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation and assistance from the Korean side in the reconstruction of the Kursk region.
"The leaders of our countries decided to perpetuate the feat of the soldiers of the Korean People's Army who participated in hostilities", Shoigu added.
He emphasized that the issue of opening memorials in Russia and the DPRK in memory of the Korean soldiers who fell in the battles for the liberation of Russian territory was also discussed.
"In this regard, within the framework of the visit "the creation of a suitable memorial complex with a museum in Pyongyang with the participation of the Russian side was discussed," the secretary of the Russian Security Council said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Shoigu arrived in North Korea at the behest of Russian President Vladimir Putin, where he held talks with Kim Jong-un.
