Trump: Nobody knows what I'm going to do - 1

President Donald Trump declined to answer reporters' questions about whether the US was planning to strike Iran or its nuclear facilities, saying the Iranians had contacted him but he believed it was "too late to talk", Reuters reported, BTA reported.

"There's a big difference between now and a week ago", Trump said in a conversation with reporters outside the White House. "Nobody knows what I'm going to do".

Trump said Iran had offered its representatives to come to the White House for talks, but did not provide details. He described Iran as completely defenseless, with no air defenses.

The US president added that he had told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to continue acting (with strikes on Iran).

Trump once again gave no indication that the US would provide more support to Israel and reiterated that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that the US military was "ready to execute" any decision that President Donald Trump may make on matters of war and peace, Reuters reported.

However, Hegseth declined to confirm that options for strikes on Iran were being prepared.
"If and when those decisions are made, the Department (of Defense) is prepared to implement them," Hegseth told the Senate Armed Services Committee.
