The percentage of foreigners serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has increased significantly, Ukrinform reported, adding that to date, citizens from 72 countries serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which about 40% are representatives of South America, BTA reported.
The online media "Hromadske" reports this, citing the acting head of the department for coordination of military service of foreigners in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kostyantyn Milevski.
"According to our data, people from 72 countries serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Currently, about 40% of them are exclusively from South America," Milevski said.
He noted that while at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, 100-150 foreigners were joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine per month, now this number has increased to 600. Currently, a total of over 8,000 volunteers from other countries have joined the ground forces. According to Milevski, this is facilitated by the full-fledged work of the Center for Recruitment of Foreigners and the assistance of the state.
