The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kalas, insisted on Sunday that all Ukrainian territories currently occupied by Russia belong to Ukraine under international law.
She made the statement after US President Donald Trump suggested that Russia and Ukraine exchange territories as part of a possible peace agreement, AFP specified.
Kalas noted that the US "has the power to force Russia to negotiate seriously", but reiterated that the negotiations must include Ukraine and the EU.
"The agreement must not provide a springboard for further Russian aggression against Ukraine, NATO and Europe," she concluded.
