Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that his troops have achieved successes on the eastern front, DPA reported, BTA reported.

"We are defending our positions along the entire front line and for the second day in a row we are achieving successes in some extremely difficult areas in the Donetsk region", Zelensky wrote on the social network "Ex" after a meeting with the head of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Syrsky.

Zelensky specified that Ukrainian forces had successes near the cities of Dobropilya and Pokrovsk.

Ukrinform Agency reported today that the First Azov Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, together with other units, had returned Ukrainian control over six villages in the Pokrovsk region.

"The Commander-in-Chief also reported on the actions of our units in the Sumy, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions. I am grateful to all our servicemen for their endurance," Zelensky noted in his publication after the conversation with Syrsky.

DPA points out that it was unable to confirm the data on the situation on the battlefield through an independent source.

Zelensky warned that despite the successful offensives, there is a danger of Russian counterattacks.

"We expect that in the coming days the Russian army may try to increase its pressure and strikes against Ukrainian positions in order to create more favorable political conditions for negotiations with global players," Zelensky added in his publication in "Ex". "We are documenting the movement and preparation of Russian troops. "Of course, we will counter it, if necessary, asymmetrically," Zelensky assured.

Later in the day, the Ukrainian army reported that it had pushed back Russian forces by about 2 km in some parts of the front line in the Sumy region, in northern Ukraine.

"Ukrainian servicemen continue active combat operations to destroy the enemy and liberate our settlements," the Ukrainian General Staff wrote on "Facebook". The text states that fighting continues near the villages of Alekseyevka and Yunakovka, which are located 5 km and 7 km from the Russian border, respectively.

Russia, which controls just over 200 square kilometers in the region, according to the Ukrainian battlefield mapping project "DeepState", has not commented on the Ukrainian army's claims.
